Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday exuded confidence about victory in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, and promised he will bring a fresh “Vikas ki Ganga” to Bihar during his next tenure.
He also said terrorists should be beaten like “ghosts who are driven away after being caught by the tuft of hair”, and accused the Congress-led opposition of trying to downplay the issue of national security despite numerous lives lost in terror attacks.

New Delhi: Nationalism and the sacrifice of soldiers are as much an election issue as the death of farmers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Monday, rejecting opposition criticism that he was using the defence forces in his campaign speeches for influencing voters. “In a country where thousands of its soldiers have been martyred, shouldn’t that be an election issue? If farmers die, then it is an election issue, but when soldiers die then it is not an election issue? How can that be?” PM Modi said in an interview to national broadcaster Doordarshan.

Phase 1 Lok Sabha Elections 2019 : EC says Voter turnout same as 2014

The Election Commission, in a press briefing, said Phase 1 of Lok Sabha elections today were largely peaceful barring a few stray incidents. The Deputy Election Commissioner also spoke about the various complaints registered in Phase 1.

“570 poll complaints have been received and 547 decided,” he said. He also said that 15 EVMs have been damaged and legal action is being taken.

On the NaMo TV row, he said they got a report from Chief Electoral Officer Delhi and a report from I and B said it is not a channel. EC is examining the legal issues, he said.

PM Modi addresses people across 500 locations as part of ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign

Two weeks after he launched ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ (I too am watchman) campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday afternoon, will interact with people who have pledged their support to the campaign, from 500 places across the country.Modi will also address BJP workers and the general public after which he will interact with people at different locations through video conferencing. On March 24, the BJP started registrations for the programme.
